One of the victims, Jonathan Snipes, said he had accidentally knocked a drink off someone else's table. He and the man exchanged words and then the man jumped up to attack him and yelled anti-gay slurs.
NYPD said detectives were investigating the incident as a possible bias crime. The counts filed Tuesday were not hate crimes charges.
