My granddaughter had trouble breathing too and I finally realized that she would start thinking about breathing and then everything would get out of rhythm. She just thought she couldn’t breath but I noticed that it often happened when she was around smokers and realized that she has been so brain-washed she thought she was going to die or something.

It really isn’t the smoke, it was the panic of being in the presence of smoke.

I had asthma when I was younger and it is awful to not be able to breathe!

I have never heard of this disease but she has my prayers for an answer.

I truly feel her pain. My son was born with Myotonic Dystrophy and it did not show until he was about a year old.

I’ve lived my whole life in constant care for him.

Some of the symptoms sound like myasthenia gravis. There is a blood test for it. It’s a weird one but once diagnosed, usually controllable.

Mostly the difficulty swallowing and the difficult breathing. It’s often misdiagnosed but it is very serious... especially when the breathing is effected.

Hope they figure it out... soon.

To me, the symptoms sound like whooping cough without the cough. In California they are forcing all 7th graders to get another vaccination for wc due to the epidemic. I have got to wonder if this could cause some kind of mutant form of wc or for some individuals a partial immunity.

I’ll say prayers for the poor girl.

O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden.

Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your child, Veronica, to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen

I know how that first 5 minutes feels; my son was born 2 months premature.
The doctors snatched him away and put him in a incubator, my wife panicked even under sedation from the Cesarean.
Later the doctors told both my wife and I he probably would not make it. I had to go back to work, still had to support the family I hoped to have.
16 weeks later he came home from the hospital.
32 years later he is 6 foot 5 inches, 236 pounds. And dad is just 5 foot 11 inches and 173 pounds.
Life can sure throw some curves.
