As expected, Bill Maher has now weighed in on the non-troversy, that erupted this week when Jerry Seinfeld bemoaned the culture of political correctness on college campuses – and Maher went a step farther.
Both Maher and his guest Comedy Central roast master Jeffrey Ross, agreed with Seinfeld, which should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with their work.
The big stunner came when Maher acknowledged that liberals have become so infected by political correctness, that they have been rendered all but incapable of finding his brand of humor amusing. As a result, Maher has had to modify the makeup of his audience.
He explained;
“Liberals are definitely more PC. I used to fight with this audience all the time, because we used to get the audience strictly from liberal sources. Then we got the audience from like everywhere, and I’ve had a much better time the last couple of months.”
How’s that for delicious irony? The only way Bill Maher can guarantee he’ll get some laughs is by packing his studio with uptight, puritanical conservatives.

Political correctness is an exercise in self delusion. It comes easy for liberals.
Instead of being snarky towards these comedians starting to wake up, we should be encouraging them. Things like this can start to spread and do a lot of good.
This really mean something, his whole strength came from his background of being a stage comedian and experience with audiences, and since it was his own shows, owning his own audience gave him the power to try to argue with the conservative guest first, or when losing, switch to playing to his audience.
It seems like he has enough confidence now, or maturity, or both, combined with millions of dollars and needing something fresh at age 59, to lose a little of that advantage.

Whenever a liberal suggests that you can somehow become his friend it is always a trap.
Its either about money or viewership, which in broadcasting is the same thing, or it is some kind of setup for an eventual ambush.
The creator has also turned on its own created monster as well.
If libs wouldn’t be the way they’ve gotten, Maher would be completely happy to continue to bring in a totally liberal audience.
He’s doing it for HIS SHOW, HIS POCKETBOOK. Not because he has seen the light. He’s still gonna be liberal. Just not anal stick up the a$$ liberal where he can’t make jokes and do his job.

We do not need their support or help. Blowback is happening within the ranks of PC itself. Let them eat each other without interference. I get your point. It has merit. But not enough to bail out the enemy.
When Maher actually says he’s abandoned liberalism, and is a conservative, and actually does things that confirm he’s conservative, consistently, then I will embrace him as such.
But merely griping about anal-retentive liberals in his audience is not him coming over to our side or admitting anything that conservatives believe is correct.

i have also never felt more like an idiot than when reading some of the science, technology and military comments on this board and my IQ is 140 lol.

Thing is when Maher first started he leaned conservative if not libertarian. He used to have a show called “Politically Incorrect”, and he spent way more time making fun of the libs.
I think when he was offered the show on HBO he was told if he wanted the big paycheck he had to switch sides, and he sold his beliefs.
I still say he better have eyes in the back of his head. One day Todd Palin is gonna catch up with him. If some called my wife a c#nt on national TV, I wouldn’t ever forget!

I actuality think a bit less of TP for not having got on a plane and beat the hell out of him that day. I understand the political ramifications. I would have done it anyway. Some things are just right and some are just wrong.
Thats cheap. In the Right Wing Empire a ditch dug by a 140 would be worth more. Because it would be a precision ditch, work properly and serve it’s function ;)
I share your feeling. I’m far from an idiot (well depending on which Freeper lib you ask ;) but some of these guys are either supreme bullshit artists or incredibly smart. Probably both. But heavy on the smart regardless.
