Worldwide study finds high concern about fixing climate change (UNIPCC Pantsuit load Alert!!)

BONN, Germany (Reuters) - Almost 80 percent of people worldwide are perturbed about global warming and most want tough action to fix the problem, according to a new study that the United Nations touted as a spur to an international climate deal later this year.

The report, based on consultations with 10,000 people in 75 nations from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, also showed that 66 percent viewed measures to tackle warming, such as more wind or solar energy, as a chance to improve their quality of life.

Christiana Figueres, head of the U.N. Climate Change Secretariat, said the findings were "important proof" of public support in both rich and poor nations for a U.N. deal to limit climate change due to be agreed in Paris in December.

"Action now is necessary," she told a news conference on Wednesday at talks among almost 200 nations in Bonn, Germany, that began on June 1 and will run until Thursday to lay groundwork for a Paris agreement to limit global warming.

She said public opinion was often overlooked by government negotiators immersed in technical details. "It brings some light into what is otherwise a very dark box," Figueres said.

Organisers from the World Wide Views Alliance, partly funded by the French government, said the study amounted to the largest public consultation ever on climate change. It was conducted on June 6, starting in Fiji and ending in the United States.

So, that’s the opinion of 10,000 people out of 7,000,000,000? Well, that settles it. Time to go full-bore Communist, revert to 17th century technology and fix this planet!!!! ;)

I hope that president Cruz at least suggests the possibility of there being a “second UN headquarters” in Beijing.

Right. A UN push poll finds professional worry warts wringing their hands anxiously over stuff serious people do not consider important.

For example [a poll done by Gallup in March 2015]

A new Gallup poll shows that Americans’ concern about warming has fallen to the same level it was in 1989. In fact, global warming ranked at the bottom of a list of Americans’ environmental concerns, with only 32 percent saying they worried about it a “great deal.”

“Importantly, even as global warming has received greater attention as an environmental problem from politicians and the media in recent years, Americans’ worry about it is no higher now than when Gallup first asked about it in 1989,” writes Gallup’s Jeffrey Jones.

In Gallup's most recent, "What is the single biggest concern facing America" question: http://www.gallup.com/poll/1675/most-important-problem.aspx Not even ONE PER CENT believe global warming is the biggest problem facing the country. Not EVEN 1%.

These Global Warmest really annoy me with their Holier than Thou superior attitude and I am more scientifically literate than you deniers.

What studies have been done as to what effect on the environment the phenomenal number of wind turbines and solar panels that would have to be produced and installed to supplant all of the carbon based fuel that currently powers our cars and electrical needs?

It has been shown that wind turbine create wind eddies behind them that disturb natural atmospheric thermal layering.

Will solar panels cause higher surface air temperatures of less?

Nobody knows and these idiots are ready to radically change the way we do things simply because they don’t like the way we do things.

"Change." The most mindless political slogan ever. "Change" into ... what? They haven't an answer.

I know climate change is real. For the past couple of months, it’s been getting hotter almost every day! So this is serious.

Yeah,I really believe those U.N. numbers....NOT. I think people are concerned about the climate, but who says they are willing to turn it over to a group purporting to have fixes for it,but the main objective is taking your money?
