If we believe in responsibility we really ought to follow through on that belief. Yes we can hold liars responsible. But willfull gullibility has to be reproved too. That’s volunteering to be a liar, which is worse than inadvertently being one due to misinformation.

Responsibility does not come naturally to humans. That's why babies are born liberal, and have to be taught better to become conservative.

If you are waiting for naive people to decide they need to seek out better sources of news and information, you will be waiting a long time. The Default attitude of the entire population is that they will see what's on television.
