Hormonal treatment for cows could reduce global warming

New research carried out by The University of Nottingham suggests targeted use of hormone treatments could make the dairy industry more efficient and sustainable in addition to cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

Dr Archer and his team carried out a computer simulation of individual cows from 10,000 dairy herds (more than in the UK); to compare traditional reproductive management with what could happen if specific routine hormone treatment programmes were adopted.

Dr Archer said: "The results varied between herds, but for an 'average' UK herd, there would be a reduction in methane emissions equivalent to the global warming potential of two cars, a family home, or 21 barrels of oil. The farmer would also save at least £50 per cow each year in production costs." It is concluded that the routine hormonal treatments tested would be financially viable on many farms, bringing benefits to society through reducing global warming and ensuring the continued availability of affordable milk.

I am going to write up a request for a government grant to “save the environment” by determining how much greenhouse gas would be eliminated if we fed cows Beano with every meal.

> Eff me for paying taxes.

Many people are pondering that very thing right now across America...wondering why the hell are we funding our own torture?

I’m doing everything I can to pay the least amount of taxes that I can. The truth is there needs to be civil disobedience to the stupid crap our founding fathers (oops NSA tag) would never have agreed to. The Left has crossed WAY over the line during the last 2 terms.

I thought, “no way, has to be an article from “The Onion.”

Parody, thy name is now synonymous with reality.

How about a collection system to capture the methane so it could be safely used to generate electricity? Surely you could get some government entity to swallow that one....

The “sky is falling” crowd will stop at nothing. First thing we know they will put in plugs with hoses attached to capture that methane gas. My suggestion would be to put all of them in one room and LEAVE the methane gas they produce in that same room, might even do away with some of them.

I read the other day that they now have a pill to make farts smell like chocolate. Wonder if this would solve the problem?

My dad once told his fellow workers that the government was going to require them to wear “fart sacks” under their clothing at work...

Amazingly, a couple of women believed him and said they would refuse to...*ROFL*

It’s either we don’t pay taxes or we flex our second amendment rights.
Their call.

Hmmm... Save the planet while (potentially) poisoning the people with the unknown effects of long-term second hand ingestion of these hormones.

They actually have undies that are advertised to trap farts. My daughter bought a pair to wear on a bloated day. She thinks they work, keep the smell in! I doubt she’s taken a survey of her patients!
