Pat Robertson has advice for bereaved mothers: your dead baby could have been Hitler

...a viewer asked host pat Robertson what she should say to a coworker who asked her "Why did God allow my baby to die?" ...

"As far as God's concerned, He knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease," Robertson said.

So if God allows some baby to be born and any of this (a, b, c or d - listed above by Robertson) happens and God knows the end from the beginning then God wanted that baby to grow up to do these things?

Robertson's answer only creates more of a dilemma since if God knows the end from the beginning and a, b, c or d(listed by Robertson above) happens after the baby grows up then God is responsible, but if the baby dies then God allowed the baby to die because a, b, c or d could have happened if the baby had been born and grown up.

It is like in the Book of Job: Satan said that God had created a hedge around Job and God did not deny this. Satan wanted God to attack Job Himself but God did not say He would do this, only that He would let Satan attack Job but would not let him take Job's life - thus God lowered the hedge so that Satan could get to Job within the parameters that God had set for Satan.

Would that (in the Book of Job) be similar to God personally unlocking a jail cell and letting some mad man go rampant knowing ahead of time (due to His Omniscience) that this mad man will attack people?

Does Roberson still use the miracle protein milkshake and leg press 2,000 pounds?

Oh dear God.

Last week you posted several threads with thousands of questions about the Duggars Salvation.

Now are you back with several thousand questions about old Pat Robertson?

I’m entertained by people who think they are favored by God or because they believe or participate in some religious group that nothing bad should ever happen to them. Even more entertaining is someone looking to a television personality for answers.

2 threads. two.

Not several. So stop lying.

Secondly, someone said if you don't like something then change the channel (from the Duggars show).

So change the thread and don't post on this thread if you don't like it.

Third, please stop with the liberal use making this about me (Ad Hominem.

Fourth. The thread was centrally about a central tenet of Calvinism - unconditional eternal security - and the two threads were nothing more than a catalyst for that - nothing more.

Geez, lay off of the caffeine...

People by now should now based upon my past threads from a long time ago that I certainly don’t like Word of Faith types or those who seem to come close to them.

Robertson has been described as a Dominionist/WOF: Christians will take the world over and usher in the Lord’s return. I don’t care much for Dominion Theology.

Third, I don’t care much for the doctrine of unconditional eternal security, but don’t think that conditional eternal security does much to answer certain questions, either.

I’m sure the good Reverend means well, but maybe it’s time to retire.

There’s nothing wrong with admitting that you don’t know why God allows this or that, or will not allow something. Some questions are simply unanswerable - at least in this lifetime.

People wonder when did the decline of Christianity in America began.

The answer hit me just a couple of days ago. It was when the nation embraced TV “preachers” like this back in the 80s that turned it into a joke that was easy to target.

Too bad Billy Graham isnt young enough to take it back from these guys.

Either this is inaccurate, or Pat is an idiot. I doubt it is accurate.

We must be getting close to an election...

MSM is sticking a mike in Pat’s face.

MSM has a motto, milk every dime out of everyone running for office.

If someone has no money for ads, they do not get covered.

First: You clearly have no idea what Calvinism teaches, so sell your strawdummy elsewhere.

Solomon said that of writing books there is no end.

Or... basically that for every question one seems to answer there only seems to pop up more questions to replace the question that received a potential answer.

I have come to the conclusion that most things are unknowable, that in the end only God knows almost everything, that we don’t know why this or that happens in life, that neither unconditional eternal security nor conditional eternal security are absolutely airtight doctrines that can be proven with absolute certainty -— and on and on and on.

So then give us an answer, oh great one:

Does Calvinism teach unconditional eternal security or does it teach conditional eternal security?

If God’s purpose was to prevent another Hitler, why didn’t He just kill the first Hitler when he was a child?

Pat Robertson is not polictically correct. That’s a good thing.

Was this too much of a “trigger” for you girls?

Pat Robertson seems to provide plenty of content for the MSM - even if it isn’t close to an election.

And I don’t remember the MSM being the ones who provide the mike for Robertson.

It appears that he has his own mike on TV -— provided by himself for himself perhaps?

The answer he should have given should have been a quotation from Jesus and then a quotation from Ecclesiates.

Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.

In other words, sometimes things just happen and there isn’t any spiritual judgment or divine retribution involved. Since pain and death are in this world, we will all be affected by them at some point.
