In an appearance on Fox and Friends Weekend on Saturday, Ann Coulter, author of ¡Adios, America! The Lefts Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole, was asked what her solution would be to fix issues with immigration.
Coulter, as she had in a previous media appearance. replied that she would shut down immigration for 10 years and shut down all organizations tied to assisting immigrants.
Halt for 10 years, she said. That wasnt originally my solution. I would rather go back to the pre 1965 rules where we brought in the countries that traditionally populated America.

Maybe 20 for good measure.
Yep. She’s right on this. There is no good reason to bring in immigrants in a time of historically low labor participation.
She plays right in the hands of leftists who have tried their hardest to paint the anti-illegal immigration sentiments conservatives have, into anti-immigration xenophobic sentiments. Thanks for nothing Anne!

Yeah, it should be 1.5 generations, to allow for assimilation.
Which brings us to the point - the GOAL of the left with flooding the nation with other cultures IS to destroy the American culture through dilution.
They DON’T WANT assimilation.
HOORAY Ann!
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers...
The problem is, we need to bring in wealthy educated people to pay for all these poor low skilled people they won’t deport. We need them to pay for all the benefits being consumed.
IMHO, that is a ridiculous idea. It would be like banning all legal drugs and pharmacies to deal with the illegal drug problem.
What we need to do is seal the border and crack down mercilessly on illegals and anyone who
We don’t need more immigrants in this country to succeed economically, despite the cheap labor that profit oriented business seeks.
If one wants to talk about the ‘richness’ of diversity and contributions to the fabric of society, that’s a completely different thing. However, I submit that importing third world cultures that pretty much refuse to assimilate isn’t richness. It is division and devolution.
Romney was dead right about the 47% and the left is working day and night to make it 55%.
BTY, when my grandparents came here in the 20’s, they had to prove they were physically capable of work and not just coming here to flop.
If you couldn't support yourself, you'd be turned back. Makes sense. They weren't letting just ANYBODY in.
Now, of course anyone can come here and DOES... even it they are unable to take care of themselves. Unlike the time when my grandparents arrived, there is a heap of taxpayer funded programs to ‘assist’ people who can't/won't work and who can't/won't assimilate.
IMHO, that is a ridiculous idea. It would be like banning all legal drugs and pharmacies to deal with the illegal drug problem.
What we need to do is seal the border and crack down mercilessly on illegals and anyone who hires them or aids them.
Hire an illegal to wash dishes in your restaurant or mow lawns and you get a mandatory 5 years in prison. Illegals who are caught have all their possesions seized, are sentenced to 2 years of hard labor and then deported. If they are caught a second time, mandatory death penalty. Problem solved.
“Halt for 10 years, she said. That wasnt originally my solution. I would rather go back to the pre 1965 rules where we brought in the countries that traditionally populated America.”
Bingo!
Excellent, Ann. Any other public figure out there willing to speak the truth?
I think the right immigrants are good for the country and economy. The wrong ones are disastrous.
Any immigrants should be required to pass something along the lines of a GED test in ENGLISH before being considered for a visa. This would help prove their commitment to assimilating.
No, Ann is correct. It's time to take back the narrative on immigration. It matters not that we are "a nation of immigrants". That was then, when the country was wide open save for the primitive indigenous peoples who had created no infrastructure whatsoever. Now, the country is populated enough, and it should be our choice as to who gets in, if at all. We certainly don't need millions of unskilled illiterate day laborers.
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
Time to ship the Statue of Liberty back to France. They can take the world’s refuse. We no longer can afford them.We will take them if they drive here in a Mercedes not in a ship’s cargo hold.
I’m not arguing that what you call the “right immigrants” could be good for the country. My point is that we do not need them if it impedes the ability of already-citizens to make that same ‘good’ contribution solely because the new immigrant is cheaper or has a ‘dream’.
We already have enough melting pot diversity to occupy our attention for at least half a century. Our Constitution affirms our freedoms and offers many protections against government. Nowhere in it does it say the United States has to become the ultimate destination for every citizen of the world who wants better.
I was thinking maybe 50 years. Until all the current ones are assimilated or dead.
