Please enough with this crap.
There are no stakes. Obama wins either way. A bigger win for Obamacare is if subsidies are gone and the Republicans bail out the subsidies, as announced.
You have a better explanation for what happened last time?
Balderdash. Both wings of the uniparty agree on deathcare, and its not going anywhere. Even if by some miracle the courts invalidate portions of ithe subsidies, you can rest assured that the gop and rats will be rushing to replace them.
I do hope the courts toss the subsidies. Not because I have some naive hope that it will end deathcare, but because it will be immensely entertaining to see the gop faction twisting itself intto a pretzel to figure out a way to keep the subsidies and preserve deathcare in spite of their lofty rhetoric to the contrary.
Don’t we all know by now that the SC is too chickenshit to overturn Obiecare no matter what is or isn’t constitutional?
Yeah, like that Gruber dude!!!
“Roberts will get a visit from a couple of guys in dark suits that will have a Manila folder...”
Perhaps the Hastert indictment for improperly withdrawing money from his bank accounts, and subsequent government leaks of alleged sexual misconduct, is a clear message.
Agree that post outlines one possibility and frankly the outcomes that post outlines should send a shudder down every right-thinking American's spine.
There are also other alternatives such as posted here.
I think the most likely scenario is that the USSC is going to uphold Obamacare as-is (and why not? They re-wrote the law in the first place!) which will then force the Republican's to take one of the actions I outlined in my post #49 in that thread.
We're all going to find out one way or another soon enough.
Obama is doing this to have them change their mind.
He did it with Obamacare’s first ruling. That had already been decided and Roberts’ blackmail worked, and he switched and rewrote the outcome.
He’s right,
there’s no need for them to visit him again. Roberts knows that stuff didn’t just disappear from the first time.
what is he being blackmailed over?
AKA, a political hack of the socialist persuasion.
His adopted kids and his sexuality.
This means the ramifications go well beyond a few subsidies.
It will shift the pretend balance of power - heading to a dictatorship.
Decisions are announced mon and Thurs at 9:30.
Good post, #49, but depressing.
My point is that if the Supremes do not draw a line in the sand against bad law, then there is effectively no restriction against more and sometimes even worse bad law from coming down the pike in their direction. Furthermore, this is not the end of the so-called challenges to Obamacare, such as Sissel v HHS.
I believe that the administration’s fear is that if there is a ruling against the ACA, the uprising over it really want be that big. Thus proving that there numbers of the truly needy are inflated. The vast majority of people will just go on and get their insurance somewhere else.
Once you let the genie out if the bottle...
Where have you been? This has been thrashed about for a long time right after the SC decision. The reply you received from another Freeper is right on the money.
