Why is this an issue for us?

The victims have found resolution and have forgiven Josh. Discussing this further is not helping them. Indeed, this publicity has ripped off a scab and they’re feeling the injury afresh.

What do people who continue bringing up this issue want to take place? The death penalty for Josh, along with his parents? Would that be enough?

This is the ugly thing about the Internet.

Now when anyone falls into the public eye for some transgression they have to be totally destroyed. Anyone who defends them also has to be totally destroyed. Say you wouldn’t cater a gay wedding and have your livelihood destroyed.

It is a very sick world.

I agree.

More important though that the authorities behaved far worse than the Duggars. The detective in charge of the case was himself convicted of child pornography. The police violated the children’s sealed records and turned them over to the tabloids.

Worse than what may have happened, is how thousands of families might view this. Do they conclude that if they go to the authorities, the authorities will either be a bunch of perverts or they will violate the laws any way they see fit and do whatever they feel like.

This is hardly an endorsement with going to the authorities and trusting them. No one seems to be pointing this out; but should we be surprised? The IRS does it. The Justice Department Does it. So why should we be surprised if the police department did it in this case.

Sadly, the Duggar haters DO WANT the DEATH PENALTY for ALL of THEM!! They HATE the fact that they are CHRISTIANS and have a big family where I THINK the haters have KILLED some of their OWN KIDS and detest the fact that the Duggars have not.

It’s an issue because there are people on this board who idolize them.

One of these people turned out to have been a sexual predator and the folks who have lifted these media creations up on a pedestal have thrown a fit at everyone who have said that the girls who were molested should have gotten counseling.

Some of these people want to minimize what happened so bad that they have insisted that it was a one time event or that Josh was younger than he really was when it started.

The aggressive verbal assault Josh Duggar’s ardent defenders have foisted on people who never heard of the Duggars (such as myself, having not even owned a television in over twenty years) made this an issue.

The insistence that people must remain silent when cases of sexual assault hit the media is nasty, and the self-righteous tone that the Duggar’s Westboro-like worshippers have taken blew this up into a bigger issue than it was.

He made the mistake of commiting pederasty as a atraight person. If he had been gay the homonazis would have rallied behind him and demanded that it be legalized. How else can you explain a group that went to such great lengths to take over an organization that allows men to take boys on camping trips way out in the woods alone and away from their parents? Nothing else makes sense...

How about 15 years hard labor? You know, in prison?
