Some things I noticed about the photo:
1. I’m no ‘expert’, but who wears latex gloves to eat BBQ?
2. Doesn’t seem to be a lot of people there.
3. Dude on the right seems to be thinking, “Well, at least my corn subsidy will be safe with this guy.”
4. Dude on the left seems to be thinking, “Wow. This guy is almost as slick as you-know-who.”
From the Article:
That Republican Co-Chair Ortiz sounds like the “Midwest way of doing things” is just a show and a sham to be taken advantage of, rather that anything real.
He was helping with the cooking and carving.
Since you spent so much time making up your clever anti-Walker, anti-middle Americans snit-list, I’ll just circle around you and join those who have something useful to say.
“3. Dude on the right seems to be thinking, Well, at least my corn subsidy will be safe with this guy.”

Walker has long been maligned about ethanol by a lot of people, including some Cruzers here on FR.
Readers have a right to know the truth on Walkers longstanding ethanol position, one he articulated again in his Iowa speech.

Walker on ethanol, March 7, 2015
“While I do not support the mandate, I do not have a problem with ethanol...
However, it is clear to me that a big government mandate is not the way to support the farmers of this state...
Central planning will not help our family farmers, protect our environment, or provide jobs.
The free enterprise system must drive innovation to relieve our dependence on foreign oil, not mandates from the state or federal government.”

He was serving food to others. Most places require gloves for that these days.
This was a fund raiser for Joni Ernst. Walker’s getting big press because Iowa Governor Branstad (and Ernst) are at least unofficially backing him. There were several thousand people there, many just to support Joni, and, this is Iowa, where co-ops and banks give out free tickets to people who just want to go for the food. Seeing presidential wannabes in Iowa isn’t a big deal, and not everyone is enchanted by every candidate.
Bingo.
