Boone, Iowa — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker hopped on a Harley Saturday to raise his profile in this early presidential nominating state.
A half dozen other presidential candidates were on hand, but Walker was the only one to participate in the ride with U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and 300 other bikers. The 39-mile ride honoring veterans wove from the Big Barn Harley-Davidson dealer in Des Moines to the Boone County exposition grounds that will host the Iowa Straw Poll in August.
...Walker regularly promotes the motorcycle company headquartered in Menomonee Falls and owns a 2003 Road King that his wife Tonette bought for him used as a surprise gift. He left that bike at home and instead rented a silver 2014 Road King from Big Barn for this ride.
In interviews, Harley enthusiasts at the event said they liked that Walker was a rider but that it wouldn't play a role in their decision on who to support for president. Ernst said being able to ride a Harley was "not a qualifier (to be president), but an interesting factoid."
Nonetheless, Walker's ability to lead the ride with Iowa's newest senator gave him an advantage, in part because he had a media throng to himself for the early part of the day. A photo of him at the event was featured on the front page of the Drudge Report on Saturday with the headline, "The leader of the pack."
...At 17%, Walker led the packed field in the latest Iowa Poll of likely Republican caucusgoers. That put him 7 points ahead of his nearest rivals, Carson and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky. Walker also had the highest favorability rating of all the GOP candidates in that May 25-29 survey, with two-thirds of Republicans having a good impression of him.....

Two separate campaign officials had confirmed to Breitbart News candidates were held for security reasons due to a security breach.
A third campaign confirmed to Breitbart News that it was in fact a “bomb threat.”............

Perry has his own Harley, but the one he’s riding today belongs to a wounded vet who can’t ride it. It’s a pretty cool bike.
I think that Perry was in two rides today. His motorcycle has its own interesting story.
“The Des Moines Register’s Jennifer Jacobs notes that Perry’s Harley was on loan from Taylor Morris, who lost parts of all four limbs while serving with the U.S. Navy in Afghanistan.”
