My friends, its come to this. And why shouldnt it? The polls are disastrous for Democrats. While Hillary Clinton surely dominates the competition in the invisible primary, her internal polling figures belie her suitability (and dependability) for the job she now seeks. At the same time, now that Elizabeth Warren has told the progressive base in no uncertain terms that no means no, worried Democrats are roving the country looking for someoneperhaps anyoneto take her on. And whom are they approaching?
The New York Post reports (via WZ):
New York Dems friendly to [Michael] Bloomberg have approached him to gauge his interest. Their argument is that Clintons vulnerability with general-election voters, especially independents, could result in a Republican president. They also believed Bloomberg could be interested because, as one of them told me, Mike cant stand Hillary. One visitor to the former mayor came away cautiously optimistic after a 30-minute meeting, noting that Bloomberg didnt throw him out of the office or start fiddling with his smartphone.

Certainly makes more sense than Lincoln Chaffee.
how rich would that be having a freaking multi billionaire as the nominee for those commie pigs
....and the big gulp ban commercials would be plentiful ....
Those voters need to be smacked out of their hypocrisy on a cold morning.
He is a power mad NAZI midget.
OK, maybe Bloomberg as a sacrificial candidate (no chance of winning with Obama breaking the Democrat brand). My bet was on Andrew Cuomo, current governor of NY, to be the Democrat candidate for President once Hillary self-destructs and the Democrat leadership begs him to step up.
Mrs. M-D
If he runs the US as well as he runs New York, in twenty years we’ll all be speaking either Chinese or Russian.
Or Arabic.
I hope they tap Cuomo. He has a terrible speaking voice and sounds like an idiot.
He campaigned as a Republican to become mayor of NY. So the Dems are going to turn to a plutocrat, the ultimate nanny stater?
He is even less relatable than Hillary Clinton.
Does no really REALLY mean no? The party that makes up new concepts, the party that invented "rape rape", surely if she won't "accept" the "nomination", they can invent "accepting accepting" the "nomination nomination".
At this point, perhaps the democrats should trot out Al Sharpton again.
Depends on your definition of what ‘’no’’ is.
Well, Soda Pop never tasted the same after the introduction of HFCS, so what’s not to like?
Oh man...I almost wish Bloomie would be the Dem nominee...just to see Cruz or Walker chew him and his Napoleon complex to pieces in the debates.
I am surprised Warren has chosen (at this point) not to run. I honestly think she’d be tougher to beat that Hillary in the general, and the extra-left left wing types would line up behind her a lot faster than Bernie. Glad she looks to be sitting this one out (so far).
What they are doing is trying to set someone up for a third-party run in the general election. They are sensing that Hillary can’t get to 50% and for her to get elected, it will have to be a three-way race like with Perot.
While I appreciate the optimistic attitude towards 2016, does anyone here have any idea what States that Obama carried in 2012 would actually flip for the Republican Candidate this time around?
I feel like the number of Electoral Votes needed to get the Job done is out of reach no matter what we do.
Am I alone in this concern, or is a Tsunami of Conservatism on the horizon that I just can’t envision?
Four states were won by Obama with a margin of less than 5%: Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Colorado. Flipping them would be enough EVs.
The next five closest that Obama won are Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and Wisconsin, all at less than 7%.
Simply targeting a state or two with a vice-president candidate won’t work. There doesn’t have to be a tsunami, but there does have to be an overall trend to the GOP.
Thanks. I’m seeing a faint glimmer. lol
