Two insurance carriers on the Obamacare exchange are attributing proposed double-digit premium increases to next year’s private-market alterations to the New Hampshire Medicaid program.
Minuteman Health Inc. has requested rate increases ranging from 42 to 51 percent for next year, according to healthcare.gov.
Maine Community Health Options asked for premium increases between 19 and 22 percent.
Both companies attributed their proposed increases in part to the Premium Assistance Program, the name for the Medicaid expansion program that is scheduled to go into effect on Jan. 1.
Maine Community estimated that claims from the Medicaid patients will be 61 percent higher than its current risk pool, according to a statement filed with healthcare.gov.

A few years back, I was going to the pharmacy for an elderly lady in our church. I was to pick up[ 8 prescriptions for her. She handed me a five dollar bill and told me that there would be co pays.
I went to pick them up figuring that I’d just pay the excess co pays, as long as they didn’t go over $50 or so and not say anything about it to her.
Silly me, I brought her back $3.70 in change out of her five - Medicaid.
(She tried to get me to keep the change but I didn’t)
Think how bad it would have been, though. Thanks Obama.
And Kali just made it legal for ILLEGALS eligible for medical care, as if they were not already getting it.
