I wonder about the 20s. Has the moral decline then been overstated? Was it just innocent things like dancing with the opposite sex that in those days was taboo? I do know the jazz culture was fairly degenerate (as much as I love jass music).

True, and I do recall in CS Lewis sequel to Out of the Silent Planet, he talks about the coming post-modern age, long before the term was even in use. The intellectual class basically attempt to corrupt Britain in the book That Hideous Strength. So you are right, the intellectual forces behind the moral decline were forming long before the mass moral decline took shape.

It is hard to imagine what real life was like for the boomers, not being one, and knowing my mother was actually brought up in a very strict and spartan atmosphere.

Well, there were a lot of people then drinking bootleg liquor, despite Prohibition. As to the sexual side of things, I haven't read enough to tell you; the general impression we have may be oversensationalized (or, perhaps not). There probably are statistics available on things like unwed births in that era, but I haven't looked.

Who's Responsible for the Moral Decline?

Who put the "bomp" in the bomp-a-bomp-a-bomp,
Who put the "ram" in the ram-a-lam-a ding dong?
