Doesn’t surprise me a bit. I remember watching Waco go down on the TV news, and I thought, holy shit, this is gonna be it, people aren’t going to stand for it. Hell, I see again on the “news” the next evening people clapping,(remember?) basically saying they deserved it. I knew (even before) then that tyranny was well under way in the U.S. Glad your boy made it out. We’ll need good men like him before the end.
What I’ve suspected all along....”our military” would really turn on us.

Seems to be a lot of people out there that think, somehow, the military and local LEO will side with the American people. To that I say, Waco & Ruby Ridge - all levels of LEO were involved in highly criminal activities directed against American citizens in both cases. Think LEO & military will side with us? Think again.
That is very much my concern. For all the talk of “libs hate the MIL”, the tables will turn if they can manipulate them.
And MIL people essentially think they should follow orders of the authority - not simply go by what they think or feel.
Frankly I think conservatives spend far too much effort venerating the MIL. They can be used for anything, and that should be remembered from the fears (overdone) of the anti-Federalists as well as some Federalists from our Founding days.
OTOH, I do not think necessarily that any of these training sessions is a portent of ill-intention by the gov or MIL. It is very possibly exactly just that - training in a more realistic(?) setting. It’s not as if the only settings will be dessert or jungle.
I am not overly paranoid about MIL or even LEO, yet, but I do remain skeptical as to just how much special treatment they should get. (Shutting down the Baltimore beltway for every damn LEO that dies for his official gigantic funeral is absolutely beyond the pale, IMO.)

Oh, for sure. When I was in the Corps we fantasized at night about killing Americans. Our escaped German Gestapo instructor at ITR encouraged us to first kill our mothers and fathers as they slept in their beds. Then we were told to celebrate by eating babies. Friggin’ Marines are the second coming of Himmler’s eisengruppen.
