Doesn’t surprise me a bit. I remember watching Waco go down on the TV news, and I thought, holy shit, this is gonna be it, people aren’t going to stand for it. Hell, I see again on the “news” the next evening people clapping,(remember?) basically saying they deserved it. I knew (even before) then that tyranny was well under way in the U.S. Glad your boy made it out. We’ll need good men like him before the end.
I was stuck in Korea on TDY at the time Waco happened. We were limited in what we could get. At first, I was all for the govt. being there, because of what the news was saying about the cult.
Again, my access to information was limited. My opinion was biased against the Branch Davidians. That all changed when the compound went up in flames.
At that point, I knew we were in trouble. I had been mugged by proxy.
