Great book. What the Xhosa did to themselves was gut wrenching.

South African companies also did leading-edge work in IP encryption. In my former community in The States we had a number of South Africans whom had relocated. As one of them said to me ten years ago, there’s no future for white people in SA.

Please correct me if I am wrong but a wheat farmer in ND can farm a couple thousand acres with very little help with the right equipment.

You are correct. The equipment costs are large, so the scale of the farm is, too. Not uncommon for a farmer in these parts to have between 5 and 10 sections (each section is a square mile, more or less, about 640 acres) in crops. Some farm more. The equipment to farm that, though, is upwards of a million dollars new.

Again, I agree with you. Regarding my original post where I talked to the Brit and Dutch SA folks, I mentioned Mandela’s name to the Brit, hoping to get something from him. He just changed the subject.

On a different note, I ran into a Venezuelan refugee at a Walmart a few months back before Chavez croaked, I asked him what he thought of Chavez. His facial expression changed from smiles to that of fear. He quickly turned around and walked away.

If I may jump in here, I was in a Minot, ND Walmart yesterday noticing all the immigrants, many suspected illegals.

I was thinking they are populating the cities and own little to no land or property, that the vast quantity of land up here is owned by farmers, and due to technology, the farms keep getting bigger and the number of farmers fewer.

Recall Rhodesia, being very self sufficient agriculturally, now having to import food.

All the left needs to do is organize the immigrants, get them thinking of reparations for the Indians and Blacks and land reform, go out and hack up the farmers, take their land and start starving this nation.

Imagine, in 10 years or so, this land once of plenty having bread lines at empty government stores, just like Venezuela, and people still voting in the Commies.

The world is mad.

I think you have raised a very interesting point and made
a very solid observation. The left hates private property ownership (except for their own elites). Land ownership
in particular. Certainly, social justice requires breaking up the large farms and ranches and giving them to the exploited-Mexicans, Indians, blacks, Central Americans in general and so forth. Something similar to what you indicated has been in the far lefts orbit for years.

Twenty years ago, I read a few left-wing (now “Moderate Democrat”) articles that called for the confiscation of all private pensions, IRAs, 401k, 403b funds and making just one large Social Security plan.

I’ve heard the joke:
What did people in Zimbabwe use to light their home before candles and Mugabe?
Electricity

Europeans did build infrastructure

Hack up the farmers and burn shops (with equipment inside) and it would only take one season.

The complexion of the region has changed, but none would go without a fight, and if the word got around, it is likely this would be an unhealthy place for folks who are conspicuously from elsewhere.

It’s going to happen in ND.

I have family there. They made a bunch of money off of oil rights. Now, they are wishing that no one found it.

The influx has been amazing. They are worried that they are the last generation to farm there.

It may not come for quite a while, if it does. Keep in mind, if land reform comes Rhodesia style no one will be farming the land unless it’s some government appointed Marie Harf type that knows absolutely nothing about agriculture.

Our politicians are hopefully smart enough not to allow this as the nation would starve making it ripe for anarchy.

Also the racial components are much different. Those influxing into ND do not have the warrior/tribal nature of those being the majority on the African continent. The Hispanics, east Europeans, Arabs and whatever are here to earn a living and all are smart enough to know they have to eat and killing or running off farmers would be just plain stupid. Most should blend in without the violence Africa offers leaving farms in tact.

I actually see more of a problem with US Citizens coming from the left coast and NE states that will Californicate the place.

As for South Africa, the REAL history is that the whites (Dutch and British) and Bantu were both expanding into the country at the same time. The original inhabitants were the Khoisan.

One of the myths spread by the ANC and its liberal allies around the world is the claim that Afrikaaners "stole" land from "native" Xhosa. In reality, most of South Africa proper was almost completely uninhabited apart from scattered populations of Khoisan (hunter-gatherer Bushmen). The Bantu ancestors of the Xhosa only started to move into South Africa in any numbers after European colonization. So if anything, the Xhosa have displaced Europeans rather than the reverse.
