They may try to prescribe these meds to ALL Americans.
Part of the “new” regulation of the ACA, you know.

I think this is actually more a case of correlation than causation.
People who kill are more likely to abuse/use drugs but it doesn’t mean the drugs make them kill.

Yep, I think more than half of the population has used these drugs at some point

In the Soviet Union it was common to send dissenters to “asylums.”

Remember, all they have found is a correlation, and correlation does not equal causation. It could well be, for example, that they have a condition that makes them both more likely to kill and more likely to be prescribed these kinds of medications, rather than the medications being the culprit.
To: Catmom
think this is actually more a case of correlation than causation. People who kill are more likely to abuse/use drugs but it doesnt mean the drugs make them kill. I think you're right. When I've taken Valium (a bendodiazepine) for sleep, I definitely feel less aggressive, downright docile even. I cannot imagine this drug would induce someone to murderous rage.
It might be the case that people with prior uncontrollable rage might have been prescribed some form of calming drug, thus leading to the correlation.

These drugs may lower inhibitions thus leading to a shorter fuse.

Do you think 0bama will use this as a basis for one of his executive orders? I’m sure the attorney general will go along with it.

The kind of people who are given such drugs may already have homicidal tendencies. This could be like a study showing that gun owners are more likely than non-gun owners to shoot someone.

I think this is actually more a case of correlation than causation. People who kill are more likely to abuse/use drugs but it doesnt mean the drugs make them kill. I think that unless you can point to a flaw in the research, you're just personally expressing wishful thinking.
