“serves every shitforbrains who voted for the commie muzzie traitor right...”
Most of them don’t pay:
1) Medicaid eligibility expanded under ACA - a free entitlement.
2) Subsidies
3) Most people on employer health care plans won’t see the full impact of the increases since the employer absorbs some of the increase.
4) Medicare recipients - unaffected
This leaves those who pay 100% of the premium, and are not eligible for subsidies, bearing the full impact of these increases. A population of about 10 million people. An inconsequential voting block which is why the Dems don’t care and the Republicans are taking no action to repeal the ACA.
#2, subsidies are taxable, so those that get them are getting a huge wake up call (they won’t get as much free money from uncle sugar at tax time anymore).
#3 In whose world is that happening? For the last 5 years the cost of both mine and my wife’s employer sponsored health insurance has gone up while coverage has decreased and out of pocket expenses have skyrocketed. a few years ago my premium went up by about 100%, then the year after that 200%, then it has steadily climbed by at least 25-50% every year since.
I know what my employer pays out for their end of it because they send a statement that shows what they pay (annual compensation statements). That hasn’t hardly budged.
