Sunday on Fox News Channels Media Buzz, retiring host of CBSs Face the Nation Bob Schieffer said maybe the mainstream media was not skeptical enough about then-Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) when he ran for president in 2008.
When host Howard Kurtz asked, Many people in this country, as you know, think the three broadcast networks are too biased, too liberal. Would you agree looking back in the media gave Barack Obama an incredibly easy ride in 2008, and for much of his presidency?
Schieffer said, Well, I think, I think the whole political world was struck by this fella who sort of came out of nowhere with this very unusual name and when he won out in Iowa, I think people sat up and took notice.
He added, Maybe we were not skeptical enough. It was a campaign.

Yeah, you think so, Bob?
The ridiculous halo’d cover photos. The lack of investigation into his background, secrecy, education, associations with known radicals, lack of legislative record.
This guy was covered in warts, yet y’all gave him a free ride, didn’t question his appointments, where the stimulus funds went, nor call him out on racist and prejudicial statements on cops and Zimmerman, Wilson, et al.
And where was the “unity” slogan in 2012, noticeably absent for a reason? By then you idiots should have realized it was all One Big Scam.
Way to do your job, Bob. You biased POS and that goes for your colleagues too. You’re the biggest reason for the failings and divisions in this country. GTHO
Well, from a friend who was Schieffer's neighbor for years, he needs to be that dumb to keep his $ millions/yr. contract with CBS, pure and simple. Further, after a few bourbons, Bob warms up his Texan conservative take on matters of color, the administration and the left.
I really think that the media was overwhelmed with enthusiasm for electing the first Black president. Now them same with electing the first woman president, all other qualifications irrelevant.
“Vetting? Is that what the press didn’t do to me?”

Hey Schieffer just one/tenth of the anal you give pubbies would have shown just what Obama was all about.
And the beat goes on.
Nothing has changed.

It wasn't the campaign that was running roughshod over the use of "Hussein," it was the media who protected Obama from that.

So, Bob Schieffer’s a racist?
I hope Sarah Palin comments on this...
All I can say is, poor Bob. Good thing he’s finally retiring.
+1.
