A rather graphic analogy, but it works.

American’s First Halfrican American President was more important to Bob and his network than actually vetting the America Hating Socialist.

What? MAYBE THE LAME STREAM MEDIA WASN’T SKEPTICAL OF OBAMA? The minute OBAMA said he was running, these people, pushed each other away, trying to be the first one to KISS HIS ASS. It’s a fact, that they all got on their knees and started sanctifying OBAMA. MAYBE? My lord in heaven, Are we going to listen to this liar again?

not skeptical enough
You think?
One of the last clues the weekend before the 2008 election was the Tom Brokaw and Charlie Rose exchange in which they admitted 'we know little about him', don't know what he reads, don't know what he believes in, don't know much at all about him.
And they represent the same press that claims to have sole right to vetting presidential candidates.
Schieffer has been as much of the problem was Brokaw and Rose and all the other sycophants 'journalists' who have been on their knees to Obama since the early days of his first presidential campaign.

Schieffer is at the top of list of media elites who were not skeptical of the unknown and unqualified Obama. The media’s complete failure/refusal to force him to even define “hope and change” was breathtaking in its bias.
This was an epic, and deliberate, failure by the fourth estate to uphold any journalistic standards. The media failed the country in ways that will reverberate for decades to come.
To: Hojczyk
Bob is simply being slightly humble now that his run is at an end. It is self-serving. The truth remains that he and his buddies run the largest most aggressive propaganda machine in American and possibly world history. His statement is embarassing and trivial—it pales in light of that.

he also said it wasnt the medias job to vet the candidate,
Various 'journalists'/news commentators have cried for years that THEY are sole vetters of presidential candidates.
They 'made' Obama. He and his disasterous domestic, economics, and foreign policies are as much the fault of the compliant syphocant media as they are of Obama and his advisers.
Not one 'journalist' ever asked Obama what he meant when he said he was going to 'fundamentally change America.'

I actually think this guy is that dumb.
To: Hojczyk
And this is a man who thinks the public should let “journalists” interpret the facts for them—and decide what they should know.

I’m digging deep into my memory (not as easy at it used to be!) to before Hussein’s first election, and listening to Rush (I think it was Rush). Seems that he played audio of a couple of MSM talking heads discussing Obama, and that Schieffer was one of them. He asked the other guy something like, “But what do we really know about him?” Then the MSM people giggled. I could be remembering wrong; not sure.
To: Hojczyk
If the MSM had not gotten the idea from the dirty campaign tricks that made BHO a US Senator from Illinois, then they were not doing their job, and they WEREN'T!
Just because there is a truism from the Bible does not invalidate it - Matthew 7 "15"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16"You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17"So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
