In January (2013), Swedish Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Sverker Göranson said that Sweden’s scaled backed military leaves the country vulnerable.

Sweden, he claimed, could only defend itself for one week if it came under attack.

The controversial admission of Sweden’s dwindling military capacity has been seized upon by Russian national television in a sketch on the satirical programme Yesterday Live.

Featuring the melody of Abba’s hit song Mamma Mia, the parody shows a man who appears to be masquerading as Göranson as he makes an impassioned plea about the imminent threat from the east.

Sorry this is pure fantasy. Sweden has not been a major power since the reign of Charles XII. Sweden, like most of Europe, has gutted its military. In a major war with Russia they could expect to last about a week. That by the way is not my opinion. It was the statement of the top Swedish military commander to parliament when asked about the effects of military spending cuts over the last twenty years.

Europe today has become a de-facto military protectorate of the United States.

Today, Sweden is not in a position to crush Russia with military means. That is true. On the other hand, Sweden has a far better capacity for large-scale production of weaponry. This is something often overlooked. Sweden is home to some of the major automotive plants on the continent and could easily flood Russia with tanks as soon as the Russian air farce has been done away with.

Sweden doesn’t rule or protect anyone or anything, unfortunately.

Just a little history on Vladimir....

Putin in KGB uniform

From 1985 to 1990, the KGB stationed Putin in Dresden, East Germany. During that time, Putin was assigned to Directorate S, the illegal intelligence-gathering unit (the KGB's classification for agents who used falsified identities) where he was given cover as a translator and interpreter. One of Putin's jobs was to coordinate efforts with the Stasi to track down and recruit foreigners in Dresden, usually those who were enrolled at the Dresden University of Technology, in the hopes of sending them undercover in the United States.

We and Finland protect Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Actually the United States and the other 24 nations Of NATO protect those 3 fellow NATO countries.

Sweden and Finland also count on us to protect them, and are starting to become scared enough of Russia, to think about joining NATO.
