I certainly don’t disagree with you there. It is a pity that they are the ones that usually get most of the new college freshmen’s time before they really have a chance to learn something worthwhile.
I am more aware than you can imagine and have voiced my opinion in faculty meetings. I made a comment in a meeting several years ago about the altar of political correctness, followed by a deafening silence. I looked around the room and several faculty members looked as if they had been gut-shot. I still laugh about it. Several came to me after the meeting and expressed their agreement in private, the cowards they were.
