Women continue boosting sales in local gun market (IL)

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - After a 136 percent increase from 1999-2014, when the number of Americans with a concealed carry permit rose past 11.1 million, gun sales continue to be on the up-and-up.

A trend that has remained parallel to those numbers has been the number of women purchasing guns and obtaining carry permits.

Locally, those stats appear to match national trends.

Bought Ruger SR9C for both wife and daughter this year. I would be willing to guess that Illinois started with a higher female shooting population than most states. I see a lot of shapely cammo during deer season.

Wait a second...Don’t the Racists race baiters (Jessie, Al, Barak) say the more gun sales will result in more shootings. I don’t think it did..
