A nice homage to his father, but one item stands out.

“On November 11, 2011, Congress voted to award a Congressional Gold Medal for the 20,000 black Marines of Montford Point, the first blacks to serve as Marines.”

Was this done for other groups?
Americans fresh from Europe, the had to go back and battle their own kin?

What about the draftees? Most wanted nothing to do with the war, but off they went.

Or the draft doger that never went! They should get a medal for evasive action! Many claimed to be gay; think about that!
