40 years of coach chokers, coke snorters, draft busts, bad trades, bad owners, bad management, 60+ loss seasons.... The Golden State Warriors are Western conference champs lead by the seasons's MVP and three point king in Steph Curry. Go Dubs!

The team that fired their successful coach last year, because, “a Christian and a black man,” wouldn’t be appropriate for when they move to San Francisco.

Mark Jackson was fired because he was combative with the owners and even his own assistant coaches, not to mention that he was weak on play calling.

They admitted they fired him because he was Christian.

Jackson was the first coach in Warriors history to improve the record three years in a row.

Steve Kerr is only where he is now because of the team Jackson took three years to develop.

Not to mention he didn’t know what “Defense” meant.

Jackson was fired because he was on a different page than management. Kerr has taken the team to the next level....

How come Curry hasn’t been fired since he’s a Christian, too...?

I lost a lot of respect for Curry staying on the Warriors.

Give it up. Kerr is superior in maximizing a player’s strengths and getting individuals to sacrifice for the good of the team. Jackson was a good coach, but Kerr is great....

He’s a first year coach. Just skating by on Jackson’s work.

Ah yes, Mark Jackson was such a Christian that he went out and had an affair with an ex stripper.
Mark Jackson was fired because he underperformed, fired his assistants if they didn’t agree with him, and alienated some of his players. Steve Kerr has made all of the right moves and has gotten the most out of his players. He moved Barnes and Green into the starting rotation and benched Igoudala and Lee. Kerr made brilliant moves in the playoffs such as putting Bogut on Tony Allen in the Memphis series. Every Warrior has upped their numbers this year, are playing as a team, and have set a franchise record for wins. Mark Jackson’s offense relied too much on isolation plays. With basically the same team Steve Kerr has managed 16 more wins in a season than Mark Jackson.

Underperformed? He came into a longterm terrible organization, improved every year, and took them to their first back to back playoffs in over 20 years. Kerr did not have to take over the terrible organization in 2011. You can turn around an organization like that overnight.

The major mistake of the Jackson era, was keeping David Lee. Since 2012, I have said they are worse with Lee in there. But I don't think Jackson had the juice to get rid of him. Otherwise, that was a huge mistake to keep starting him.

If Mark Jackson was such a great coach then why has no other team hired him?

How do you know he hasn't had offers? He has a TV gig now?

So, seriously you are going to slam Jackson as a coach. The fact that he took a pathetic organization, improved their record three straights years, took them to back to back playoffs for the first time in a generation? Let's just pretend that Kerr did it all.

none of it matters - the cavs will win it. to be clear I had pro ball and grew up in Indiana where true basketball is something of a religion of it’s own.

Tell us specifically how Mark Jackson improved the team in a way that was by any means extraordinary. History has proven him to be a mediocre coach. Steve Kerr has taken the same talent and achieved 25 more wins this season over last. He hasn’t fired a single assistant, he is on the same page as the ownership group, and he hasn’t alienated a single player. Jackson was a B minus coach. Steve Kerr has been an A coach, and with 4 more wins will be A+.

It’s an interesting match up, the best team in the league with this season’s MVP vs. the best player on the planet. The Warriors have 3 strong defenders to rotate on LeBron in Barnes, Green and Igoudala. They will probably put Green on him 50% of the time and the rest split between Barnes and Igoudala. Will team ball win out or individual superiority? If the Warriors can slow down LeBron with their #1 rated defense I don’t think the Cavs have the players to pick up the slack, and they don’t have the deep bench that the Warriors have.
