Great post. Edward Snowden did us all a great service in making it widely known how far along the technotyranny road we’ve gone.
Agree wholeheartedly with your assessment.
Can readily see bad times ahead during awful downturn in economy, where socialist tyrannical gov’t and politically aligned groups use forensic data analytics to incriminate, charge, marginalize, threaten, silence and destroy any groups and individuals linked to thought crimes, ie: anything politically incorrect and criminal.
Blog content, letters to the editor, meeting minute details provide overt statement of political position.
Google, Yahoo, Amazon search engine user profile database can be used to provide specific details of whether an individual is a gun, martial arts, prepper enthusiast, conservative, or christian.
Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, Yahoo contact databases will allow gov’t to execute fast extensive investigation of anyone associated undesirable individuals effectively silencing via social and professional network smearing.
Will someone like the Southern Poverty Law Center create a new and improved Threat to Society - Hate group association search engine database that provides ratings of groups and individuals?
If your name can be found to be associated with any controversial organization why not exploit that information if it serves a purpose?

NRA, GOA, Gun enthusiastist?
Christian Coalition, Focus on the Family?
Cato, Judical Watch, Heritage Foundation or FReeper?
You’ll be / are on a sh1tlist that will be used to isolate, silence and prosecute if necessary.

Recent revelations of IRS Tea party tax status and donor audit harrassment?

I knew I missed a few!
I just put “Battlefield America” and one other of Whitehead’s books on my Amazon wish list the other night, before I saw this. “Battlefield America: The War on the American People”. The other book I put on my list is one he wrote last year-
“A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State”.
Both look very interesting. We live in very interesting times.
