Actress Rose McGowan offered an apology — of sorts — this week after sharing what appeared to be an inflammatory quote from Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Josh Duggar’s departure from the Family Research Council last Friday.
Duggar’s resignation followed his acknowledgement of reports that he sexually molested younger children as a teenager, including his own sisters. Story Continued Below
“While there may have been an age difference, Josh Duggar’s transgressions are far less an affront to God than what gays do with each other - Ted Cruz, 5/22/15,” read the text next to the photo of Duggar and Cruz that McGowan tweeted on Sunday night.
In fact, the photo itself featured a link to an anti-tea party Facebook page, which has also posted memes of other prominent Republicans juxtaposed with statements they did not make. Snopes debunked the “quote” from Cruz and others in a post.
When it was pointed out to the actress that the quote was fake, McGowan said she was “sorry” but also had some choice words for her followers and trolls.
“I’m sorry I said #TedCruz liked child molesters. Ok? No go back to hating gays,” the actress tweeted on Monday, after posting a lengthy tweet on her political identification.
"The trolls are dark and filled with terror," she tweeted on Tuesday.
McGowan has acted in numerous films and shows over her 25-year career in showbiz, including “Scream,” “Grindhouse,” and the CW series “Charmed.
That isn’t about her apologizing.

Ted Cruz Ping! Charmed. Some show about witches. Rose McGowan was the worst actor of the bunch. Spoiled brat got paid for acting like a witch. In real life she mistreats others as if she is a witch.

As far as I can tell, Rose McGowan didn’t finish high school. This is the person the media turns to in an attempt to discredit Ted Cruz — one of the best minds ever to grace our political stage.
Is this the correct synopsis?
Fact checking site lies, Cruz gets bashed by other celebrities, has to defend himself because fact-checking sites are considered the arbiters of truth?
