I agree he was so funny back in the 80’s with Larry Bud Melman, those 2 Indian guys, his stupid pet tricks.

Yup. Sirajul & Mujibur made Letterman seem funnier than he actually was.

I’ll do what I do every night which is everything except watching a bitter left wing hyper partisan hack on his television show.

“Still no word on a possible Jay Leno cameo:”

He’s driving from LA in his steam car and has to stop and do maintenance on the boiler every 50 miles :)

I remember when Jack Hanna brought that male monkey [baboon?] on that hopped up on Letterman’s desk in an sexually aroused state and Dave tells the camera not to get a shot so it pans in tight on the monkey boner of course. There’s your final shot to end Letterman’s career! And I vote also he was great back the first 10-15 years, not after that, though. Bitter old man, had it all but couldn’t be happy.

Letterman was always kind of an a-hole

True, but people found it charming or refreshing when he was younger. It got ugly when he got older.

Nothing wrong with people trying to hold on to their individuality and unconventionality as they age, but if you're 70 and still acting like a rebellious or sulky or snarky high schooler, it isn't very attractive.

Plus, he lost a lot of his originality when he moved to CBS and the earlier time slot.

The show opened with that old clip of Gerald Ford saying, “Our long national nightmare is over.” Then they threw to new pre-recorded bits with Poppy Bush, then Clinton, then W, and finally Obama each saying, “Our long national nightmare is over”.

Sirajul and Mujibur weren’t on the NBC show in the 80s. They were neighbors of the Ed Sullivan Theater and appeared on the CBS show from about 1993-2003.
