The city’s narcotics cops are being told to stop arresting suspects over the age of 40 — a major strategy shift designed to target younger dealers, who are more likely to carry guns and use them, The Post has learned.
Top brass issued a directive that makes it all but impossible for cops to bust older drug suspects, in order to combat a spike in shootings — which are up 7 percent in 2015 compared with the same period last year and 12 percent over the last four weeks, police sources said.
The new policy was laid out in a May 14 memo obtained by The Post that scolded police bosses for busting people outside the 18-40 demographic — and demanded written explanations for arrests of midlife perps.

Drug bosses aren’t stupid. They’ll just start recruiting older dealers who are looking to supplement their Social Security.
That is selective enforcement, which is illegal and unconstitutional, and invalidates the law.

The biggest Narcotics pushers are DOCTORS if you are over 40.
Instead of actually fixing a damaged joint in your body they push NORCO or other narcotics. 10-20 MG every 4-6 hrs. If that doesn’t help they go to a stronger narcotic.
They get you good and hooked in a hurry, they know Tylenol won’t fix the pain nor will they fix the physical issue that causes the pain or can’t.
How are you funding your retirement?
FWIW, many arthritic type ailments are not easily "cured"....
many years ago there was a national health mandate to make sure "pain" was relieved by drs treating patients so there was a big push to prescribe pain pills...MANDATED by the govt...
but the biggest problem are patients themselves, who somehow think that aches and pains are not a normal outcome to daily living.....you would be shocked how many people EXPECT prescriptions from drs, no matter what...
a little cold?..a touch of the flu?...an achy knee?.....I WANT DRUGS and if you don't get "drugs" you feel like the dr is doing enough....
There are some things you do have to go to the doctor for.
As for the narcotics you can refuse to take them, which is what I usually do.
I don’t know what a cold or flu is not had one is so long because I avoid their flu shots.
With over 150 types of arthritis there is no cure, they treat symptoms. And I’d not take an OP drug if my life depended on it. They can and do kill.
DRUG MUGGERS by Susan Cohen is a good book to read.
