Because it’s evidence of a violation of federal law. Likely, the parts will be kept until after the hearing.

You have an excellent memory.

I'm old. Back when I was young, the ideas of civil forfeiture, of government seizing private property for political reasons, and of compelling people to violate deeply-held religious beliefs to avoid hurting a pervert's feelings would all have been considered unrealistically absurd. Change has come to America, and it's not pretty.

Gummint may need a lesson. Both sides can make up laws on the fly...

Do the feds plan on raiding Ford Motor company and confiscating cars which haven’t yet had the VIN strips installed? If not, why not?

Only the finished lower requires a number.

The prosecutor said it was for the use and benefit of the United States.

Yep. People don't remember it much any more but the Communists had that technique down to a judicial science.

Once you were arrested you were assumed to be guilty because the State was always right and always represented the Proletariat against the criminals, parasites, and bloodsuckers. Besides, they would never make a mistake and arrest an innocent man, would they?

Sooner than later I fear.

Don't fear it, lets get it on before were in old folk diapers and we all but have metro-sexuals and their husbands to defend us and the Constitution. < shudders >

Maybe "fear" was the wrong word.

They know that right now We will Win.

They got to do more banning/theft/ammo depletion first.

“misconduct in the form of retribution.”

Agree with what you said. About retribution; I’m thinking that Stag Arms must have a mole in their midst. Otherwise how would ATF know that these unstamped blanks would be queued up at that particular time. And, seems a little curious that the guy who’s job it was to do the stamping was absent that day....
