What happens when two police officers walk down the street with signs that say "Free Hugs"?
The Newark Delaware Police Department released a heartwarming video on their Facebook page that answers that question.
In the video, which already has nearly 5 million views, Corporal James Spadola and Officer First Class Aaron Olicker offer hugs to anyone who wants them.
Spadola explained that he came up with the #HugACop idea because there has been so much negative news surrounding police.
"I just wanted to come up with a positive time between the police and the citizens," Spadola said.

Nice thing to do.
Thanks, but no thanks.
With very few exceptions, I normally don’t do hugs.
Besides if a Cop wants to do hugs, I would feel like he was trying to ‘pat me down’, attempting to detect my concealed piece.
Awesome to see every one of different sexes and nationality all hugging. To bad the world can’t be like that. However, I don’t think I want to hug a camel or a goat humper.
Very nice.
I’m glad it worked out for this officer. This was a tremendous risk. I’m glad no cop-hating kook didn’t hug him, then literally stab him in the back. Unfortunately, there are people like this, thankfully, none are in my life, as far as I know.
Good story but I don’t hug men. The idea just sounds ummm, faggy.
ISIS, Al Quaeda and the Taliban need to learn from this. Instead of removing peoples’ heads from their shoulders all of the time, they should be offering “free hugs” to anyone who wants one. Maybe give away a few free camel rides too.
WGM!
Heartily agree. Offers of hugs and handshakes from strangers indicates either aggression, passive-aggression, an attempt to dominate, or some bizarre psychological event on their part. I have no problem at all in “Moonwalking” away from such actions.
Gaydar is pinging.
