Obviously because the republikkrats want the trains to crash killing poor folks. Thus, they wish to further defund amtrak.

Our trains run far slower and to far fewer cities and towns now than they ran in the 1920s!

the answer is because there aren’t enough Americans that want to ride trains and trains don’t go where Americans need to go.

When you turn our transportation system into a unionized jobs program, quality goes out the window.
That’s pretty much the reason.

The railroad employees around here have a better retirement and perks than anyone that works for the government or other private industry. The bigger the number of employees on the retirement dole, the less efficient the company or utility is.

We have the finest cargo train capacity in the world. Our passenger trains, however, are not up to par. We simply drive here, and there are various other reasons they ‘compromise’ advancements in passenger train capacity: private property, etc.

Privatize AmTrak. Thatll fix things up real quick. There isn't enough demand for train travel to allow Amtrack to make it as a private corporation.

Privatize AmTrak. Thatll fix things up real quick. And with such privatization, bust the unions! Totally!
