The Berkeley City Council late Tuesday voted unanimously to require retailers to warn customers of possible radiation exposure when purchasing cell phones.

The so-called "right to know ordinance" is expected to be challenged by a lawsuit from the cell phone industry.

Ellie Marks with the California Brain Tumor Association wants everyone to think about where they hold their cell phone.

Marks, who believes a cell phone caused her husband to have a brain tumor, has spent years fight for cell phone radiation "right to know" legislation.

What Berkeley really needs is a “Brain-Free Zone” sign, with a portrait of Alfred E. Neuman.

But here is a way to counter the radiation:

The time to be worrying about dangerous RF radiation exposure to cell phones was back in the beginning when users carried those suitcase bricks.

The sign that's missing at all the cities entrance is the one that warns LUNATIC ASYLUM.

Go ahead and ban cellphones. Embrace the Mommy state. All things good unless not correct,

Berkeley will soon vote on whether to require a sign be attached to the Sun, warning those on Earth of the massive irradiation being directed towards them.

First one we had was cool to the touch but would burn your head. Of course, the company denied any radiation but we got rid of it asap.

Those RF R squared loses help with distance. But they are murder right up by your head. There was some serious RF power there in the beginning.

Yup. Those suitcase bricks used 3 to 6 watts.
These modern phones use .8 of a watt. That’s like
two children’s walkie-talkies put together.

My Dad got a patent back then for a radiation safe antenna. That was back when they had antennas.

Yeah, now it’s mw.

Still, I have NEVER had a cell-phone next to my head. I use speakerphone 100% of the time. If I can’t, then text.

If you really think cell phone emissions cause cancer, then I, as an RF engineer with over 28 years of experience, demand to see the evidence.

Modern cell phones are limited in transmit power to +24 dBm, which is 1/4th of a watt.

So sick of "cell phone brain cancer" lunacy.

The 6 watt units were never close to anyone’s head though.

The radio waves from a cell phone have much lower energy than visible light. If your cell phone is giving you cancer, the overhead light at your house should’ve killed you years ago.
