Tune in next week, when Francis will announce that eating meat on Friday will send you straight to hell!
(young people won’t get the reference.)

I am aware that FreeRepublic has a very strong Catholic membership.
How many of you that are Catholics still view the Pope as an infallible man of God . . . at least this one. This one, that was elected by the school of Cardinals.
or might you think he is a little more toward the muslim mentality?

I must say, that displays a shocking lack of faith for a man who has devoted his entire adult life to the Priesthood.

Isn't there a passage in the Bible that reads: "Do not love the world,if anyone loves the world the love of the Father is not in him." So what is this Pope taliking about?

“Pope Francis has warned the powerful of the Earth they will answer to God if they fail to protect the environment”
Which “god” is this clown referring to? Algore Manbearpig?

Jorge Borgoglio is not the first incompetent to be elected Pope, and he will not be the last. Let us hope that is reign is short, and that his successor follows in the footsteps of John Paul II and Benedict XVI.

With someone of the stature of the Pope saying these things... How does freedom even stand a chance, long term?

The Pope Francis is repeating history. In the Catholic world during the 16th century, the majority of educated people (consensus of scientists) subscribed to the Aristotelian view that the earth was the center of the universe and that all heavenly bodies revolved around the Earth. This position was set as Church dogma and anyone who denied this view were heretics (deniers) and subject to the Inquisition. Galileo among other scientists challenged this view with scientific data that refuted this official Church view and were persecuted by the Church's Inquisition. Galileo was forced to publicly recant his scientific study under pain of death. Galileo's books remained on the Church's Index of prohibited books until 1966

Does the Pope know that reaching across the aisle to the devil is bad? Maybe someone should write HIM a letter.

IT’S NOT A STATEMENT OF ECO-NUT SUPPORT.
Sounds like a traditional “help the poor” homily.
Could even be read as a condemnation of eco-nut policies that prevent the use of the land for production!

More blather from Raul Castro’s favorite pope. Interesting his tenure as pope is regarded as his “reign,” not unlike a king. Too bad Benedict XVI can’t give him the boot and say, “OK.. enough of this communist insanity.”

“The striking comments from the Argentinian pontiff came ahead of the upcoming publication of a papal encyclical on the ethical aspects of environmental issues that is eagerly awaited by campaigners for action to address global warming.”
Because, based on Frankie’s philosophy, those who don’t but into the scam of “global warming” have destined themselves to an eternity in hell.

Chalk it up as a bad Pope. The Church had them before — think of the period from roughly 800 through 1100 AD. Benedict IX resigned for a sum of money, Sergius ordered a hit on another Pope and John XII allegedly raped female pilgrims. Its happened before, it will happen again, and it most definitely is happening now.

"Litterbugs are going to He double hockey sticks": Claims made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. This Pope is a real pip.
