What EPA Wants You to Know About Nail Salons
National Journal ^ | May 12, 2015 | Clare Foran

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy will take a trip to a San Francisco nail salon Wednesday—a visit intended to shine a spotlight on health risks posed by the industry.

[Snip]

Nail polish and other products found in salons contain an array of chemicals that may pose a threat to public health and the environment. Without proper handling, exposure to chemicals such as formaldehyde can lead to difficulty breathing, skin irritation and other health problems.

EPA already has put together a federal working group and doled out grants to organizations tackling the industry's public health and environmental impact created by the use of chemicals in nail salons, McCarthy noted.

You Freepers are going to have to stop drinking, spilling and inhaling nail polish ... and start chewing your finger and toe nails right now!

I remember an Omni magazine article from the late 1970’s. It showed nice professional photographs of various fruits and vegetables and next to each one listed the chemical breakdown. It looked like the ingredients list on any modern packaged food product.

The world is made of chemicals. WE are made of chemicals. Chemicals are not bad things necessarily, though some are IN STRONG ENOUGH DOSES.

I find no warrant in The Constitution for the existence of an “Environmental Protection Agency”.

Shut it down; fire all its employees, cancel all its contracts, bulldoze all its buildings.

I used to know a fairly attractive woman who used to regularly have manicures and pedicures and who’s nails were subsequently riddled with fungus.

Necessary and Proper clause or the elasticity clause is the weapon of choice that progressives used to "legally" have the power to enable agencies. The enabling acts propel to he citizens to a serfdom hellhole caused by Administrative Law.

Oh yes, the powers that be tell us we still have due process, separation of powers, federalism, etc, but if you really look into adjudication those powers that be are just peddling smoke and mirrors.

Once the Supreme Court becomes less “oringinalist” and more “progressive” individuals liberty will be a thing of the past.

"Women and Vietnamese Entrepreneurs hardest hit."

The other day, just before Mother's Day, the Washington Post went after the cut-flower industry, saying it was harmful to the environment blah blah blah. Most of the workers in that industry - mostly women - live in Central and South American countries. The elite are really going after those "women of color."

****************************************************

The lady who used to cut my hair also had folks in her shop who did manicures and pedicures .... she told me if anyone is going that route i.e. using a shop for manicures/pedicures, have your own ‘utensils’ ... her regular customers had plastic food saver tubs labeled with their names & kept their supplies right at the shop. If the shops don’t properly clean out the soaking tubs, you evidently can get the fungus that way, too. I find it’s cheaper and healthier to “do your own”.
