The American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho is warning that a south-central Idaho school district's dress code is unconstitutional and must be changed.
The Cassia County School District is requiring all female students participating in the high school graduation to wear white or pastel dresses. Male graduating students must wear pants and a tie.
ACLU Legal Director Richard Eppink says schools that make a distinction between boy and girl dress codes are enforcing gender-stereotyping policies, which violate the state and U.S. Constitution.

Naturally, the ACLU wouldn’t say a word if all the kids declined to wear pants with their ‘stuff’ hanging out.
Wholy Crap?
PANTS? I'm being REPRESSED! I'm being REPRESSED!!
They wont be happy until he whole country is a GD freak show.
So which does the ACLU want? The boys in white or pastel dresses, or the girls in pants and a tie? The article fails to clarify that.
I’m assuming these kids won’t be wearing caps and gowns.

Modesty and manners is being challenged by the ACLU?
Go figure that one out.
What, they’d rather the boys come in dresses and the girls wear just a suit and a tie (sans shirt)?!?
What exactly is the problem? Is it sexist somehow to say girls need to wear a dress? Or is the sexism in having boys wear a tie? Would they just prefer everyone wear Chairman Mao jackets like Hillary wears????
It already is. :(
Both genders should be allowed to wear Yoga pants during the school year and then for the graduation the girls can wear microskirts and the guys can wear pants with the waist below their knees. That would be equality.
Would look rather stupid but the clothes these people wear in school today are beyond belief.
Where are the parents when these kids go to school?
Asses all...
I get sick over people saying “yada yada ain’t Constitutional...”
They don’t know squat about whether it is or it isn’t.
If it is not clearly one of the powers given to Congress, then it’s part of the powers remaining to the states.
What about those students who are, uh, gender confused? Or species confused? Are turbans and burkahs allowed? More importantly, will there be “other” designated restrooms?
ACLU would be fine with that.
Ideals of government restraint (negative rights) once promised in the Bill of Rights and in similar passages in state constitutions have now been transmogrified into a Bill Of Government Enforced Positive Social Fairness.
The ACLU is nuts. I thought most kids wore caps and gowns at high school graduation. Just put them all in caps and gowns and tell the ACLU to shove it.
