What a shame: if only the economy had been better, the rioters would have had more name-brand stores to burn.
Seriously, this had to be one of the strangest statements to come out of the Baltimore riots. On this evening's Ed Show, Baltimore Pastor Jamal Bryant complained that because of economic "disenfranchisement," the rioters "could only find one anchor store in that neighborhood" to destroy.

How bad is it?
Just like Hartford, it been run mostly by liberal Dems since the 70s (Ann Uccello, was a Republican) and Mayor Mike was a great Dem mayor). Hartford had 4 department stores - G.Fox, Brown Thompson, Sage Allen and another I never been to. No stores are there.. G.Fox is a college, Brown Thompson, a hotel, brewery and Sage Allen is housing for college students...

I see. Oakland is number 3 nationally for big city crime per Forbes magazine. This is extra tragic given all the educational and other opportunities in the area. Plus the zillions of tax dollars of public infrastructure poured into Oakland. Per Forbes: Population: 395,317

The economy is so bad;

The Mafia is laying off judges.
Money’s so tight that;
If the bank returns your check marked as insufficient funds, you have to call them and ask if they meant you or them.
