Yea, that’s it. We meant for that to happen. LOL!
Somebody’s getting a one-way trip to The Lubyanka.
It tanked?
That's what I've been trying to tell people!
It’s all so clear now.
The military has been protecting against EMP for generations, even in our field radios.
“The military has been protecting against EMP for generations, even in our field radios.”
I was the engineering manager for the non-classified section of SINCGARS for the 45% built by Talla-Com/General Dynamics. We ran the EMP tests and passed. But the only aspects of the radio affected were power, antennas and a few easily protected paths to the outside world. A completely automated tank or even a highly automated tank will have many more and not easily predicted vulnerabilities. Data links are particularly vulnerable. I suppose if they went entirely optical they could do away with many vulnerabilities. But they won’t know for certain until they’re in a battlefield situation. Then, if they blew it it’ll be too late.
I think you are agreeing that the military has been protecting against EMP for generations.
They do it for far more than field radios, I only mentioned that as an example.
