Governor Brown tells critics of water tunnels project to 'shut up'
Press Democrat ^ | 6 May 2015 | JULIET WILLIAMS

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Jerry Brown took a sarcastic approach to critics of his $15 million twin tunnel plan Wednesday, saying unless they have invested a million hours working on the problem as his staff has, they should "shut up."

The Democratic governor made the comments while speaking to officials from California water agencies, who have widely varying views on the project. He said he asked his "water man" how many hours have been invested on efforts to build tunnels to send water around the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the answer was 1 million.

"Until you put a million hours into it, shut up," Brown said to laughter. "You don't know what the hell you're talking about."

It’s nice when they explain their policies to the rubes who pay for the policies.

Boy, you learn something new every day. Evidently, a public project can't be criticized - or even questioned - unless the questioner has personally worked on the project for a long, long time.

I'm sure that's in the Constitution somewhere.

Why California elected Gov Moonbeam AGAIN is beyond me. I just thank the powers that be that I was able to escape from Kalifornistan some years ago.

fiddle faddle ..... Please use the project in Carlsbad as a yardstick. Now, divide that $$$ into $25-BILLION that Goofy Governor Brown wants to spend on two holes in the ground in the Delta.... both of which depend upon rainfall and snow melt to get their source water...

Really, most of the warm bodies (people) live within 50 to 100 miles of the ocean...

Tell the California Coastal Commission to go pound sand...

An average engineer could provide water for every last soul in the Golden State using desal water.... There are many oil rigs sitting idle.... go lease the the suckers and get on with the task... Really this is NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

Kerry’s father made a good reputation for himself as governor by building a lot of roads, schools, and water supply systems. When jerry became gov the first time, he stopped all that kind of work “in the interests of the environment” . Since then, cal’s population has doubled and everyone is cramped together on inadequate roads, college classes fill up months before they begin, and the now-again-governor Jerry has to deal with the consequences of building no new water resource dams or systems construction in the last 40 years since he stopped it in the 70’s. Now he wants to do this big ( and controversial) water project — I think a few good new storage reservoirs would be better first step — but anyway he wants this project of his and he’s facing the “clock running out” issue everyone has to contend with at his age in life. It sounds like he’s tired of all the political yackity yack. Telling opponents to “ just shut up” — ha! Good one, Jerry. You never made President but would you consider the job of White House press secretary?

Jerry Brown has much time invested turning his back on the California water problem since his first go ‘round in the 70’s.

His back is to the wall on this issue now, and all that’s left for him now is flailing out at his adversaries, smearing them, demeaning, condescension. IOW typical Democrat stuff when they have screwed up.

Jerry Brown is the biggest screwup in California history IMO.

Well, they say if you have a million monkeys on typewriters eventually one will produce Shakespear. I wonder what a million government man-hours produces. Likely something akin to Archie comics.
