Agreed.
The thing is such countries do warn you when you get off the plane that drug smuggling will result in imprisonment or death. There are really big signs and a bin to dispose of any questionable items that you might have.
She claimed that she was threatened into doing it and that might be true but I would think that staying in the UK and going to the police would have been a smarter move then getting on a plane with a suitcase of coke.

The story I'm reading goes like this: she was part of a group of drug dealers who were caught. She was tried separately and turned snitch. The others got off with imprisonment through bribery and help from friends, but she got the death sentence.
