Avengers director Joss Whedon quits Twitter

Director Joss Whedon has deleted his Twitter account, following criticism of his latest film, Age of Ultron.

Its portrayal of female characters such as assassin Black Widow by Scarlett Johannsson had been called sexist.

Comic-book fans had also criticised Marvel's Avengers superhero film's plot, on the social network.

Immediately prior to deleting his account, Whedon tweeted: "Thank you to all the people who've been so kind and funny and inspiring up in here".

Why don't feminists make their own movie with a plot they like? They made the astronaut cry, now this.

Ironic that Whedon, a big lib and BHO supporter, has been attacked from the ultra-PC left. And yet he has always been a proponent of the strong woman in his work. The PC monster is beginning to devour its own.

The best part his that Whedon considered himself a feminist and lashed out at conservatives, Capitalism and Republicans in general. Gotta love it when the Left eats its own.

Twitter is a minefield if you are celebrity or famous. Every time you tweet, you need to ask, “Is this the tweet that is going to destroy my career?”

And it’s very hard to make a point with under 140 characters. The risk is high that you will damage yourself and very low that you will say something so pithy and clarifying that it will end up in a book of quotes.

It’s just not worth it.

i.e. I think he’s a smart man.

It’s what they do. Every. Single. Time.

Sadly, it happens after they “win”.

I have zero pity. The comic industry made a conscious decision to court the libs for profit (note all the gay/lib themes) figuring they could appease them and get their money. In doing so they alienated old school fans and became a DNC PR department that has massively advanced liberalism with younger readers...who become older liberals.

Hopefully the entire industry collapses of it’s own weight.

Watched the movie with my son yesterday. Not the type I generally go see but I did watch the original Avengers movie which was much better. This movie was 99 % CG BS. I did get to watch Scarlett Johanssen pretend to be heretosexual though so not all was lost (I know she’s bi)...: )

He’s not a member of the comic book industry.

A man can't say anything about women, for or against, without being sexist. By definition.

Oh yes he is. He has licensed a lot of his works and worked directly in that industry on those works.

I have no idea what guys see in Scarlett Johanssen.

She’s not appealing to me in the slightest.

I laugh at this though, because if we all only liked the same look, there were be a lot of lonely men and women.

Oh I didn’t know that. There are few things I pay less attention to than comic books.

That 99% CG BS, is something I’ve become rather jaded by as well.

Look, we all disconnected with reality to watch our favorite male actors show testosterone driven actions. To an extent, it was entertaining.

Now they go so overboard for 5’ 95 pound women, that it has just become nonsensical.

You’ve got a 265 pound built guy going after the fem fatal, and she’s moping the floor with him at only 95 pounds dripping wet.

Give me a break. It absolutely kills the plot for me right there. It becomes laughable.

I guess in a plot where the male figures are punching the other guy and he’s flying 50 feet, I suppose it’s just as realistic to show the women in some sort of light like that. It just doesn’t sell for me.

I like my women to be smart, athletic, and capable of many things, but these rolls all too often strip them of a lot of their femininity. What’s the point of that?

If a woman is in a movie, I want her to have some connection to her gender.

I’d say nearly all his old TV stuff has a comic adaptation bu now. The Buffy stuff did. He either wrote or consulted on them all. Mostly consulted. Then there were a few originals IIRC as well. But merely licensing them put him in the industry as would any work on a comic movie.

The boobs. The rest is average. She ain’t ugly but in an industry filled with gay approved anorexic boy bodies, they...stand out.

I wonder why the feminist movement has not gone after James Bond films.

He is a known sexist, liar, and degenerate fornicator-out-of-wedlock and rapist in the eyes of NOW feminists!

NOW, go after James! He is obviously a despicable male! Trash his films, please?

I don’t think she’s ugly either. She just isn’t my cup of tea.

I like brunettes, so that doesn’t help.

One thing that turns me off faster than anything, is when the entertainment industry tries to pass off a woman that is barely average as a raving beauty.

I don’t see her as a raving beauty, so it does grate me a bit, when they do this.

I’m also not a fan of large breasts. Not sure why, but big ones are actually a turn-off for me. I don’t rate her as a turn-off in this category.
