Officials are struggling to find 1,000 EU citizens who are unaccounted for in Nepal, six days after an earthquake that killed more than 6,000 people.
An EU official said most are thought to have been trekking in the Everest or remote Langtang regions. Many are hoped to be alive but isolated by the quake.
The fate of thousands of Nepalese in remote communities is also unknown.
Nepal has called for more foreign help and humanitarian aid, admitting it was ill-prepared for the disaster.

How accurate are Nepalese demographics.?..
OR ANY statistics.. from there?..
I suspect nepalese statistics are mere approximations..
You know..... GUESSES... like: global warming...
The numbers are from the EU embassies, who are working in concert with the Nepalese.
At this time of year, hundreds of thousands of westerners are scattered across hundreds of mountains. So the numbers are not only plausible, but likely.
There are millions of buildings around the world that will not stand up to the seismic events that we know are coming. Many of them are in the U.S.
When these buildings fall down, people will be killed. Real people with real names, not fake people like the statistical fake victims of global warming.
Notice how quickly the Left tries to blame Nepal earthquake loss of life on global warming - a ludicrous claim. Yet the fiction is needed by the ruling class lest anyone ask why they were not working toward making these vulnerable buildings safe. The Left is squandering time and billions of dollars worrying about glaciers melting in the Himalaya, while those dollars should be spent on seismic upgrades, improved medicine, and sanitary facilities in third world countries like Nepal.
And we see the Clinton Foundation stepping up with monetary donations to help right? Not.
