Pediatric group says kids with lice should go to school

The nation’s leading pediatric group issued new guidelines this week saying that kids with lice should be allowed to stay in school.
Many school districts ban students with lice from the classroom until the child has been treated and all the bugs and knits (or eggs) have been removed. Now the American Academy of Pediatrics is encouraging schools to change their policies.
The new guidelines read:
"Head lice are not a health hazard or a sign of poor hygiene and, in contrast to body lice, are not responsible for the spread of any disease. No healthy child should be excluded from or miss school because of head lice, and no-nit policies for return to school should be abandoned."

Ugh. Last year, my oldest kept coming home with lice. We’d get rid of it, and they’d reappear … over and over again. Never found any on her bedding. Her sister never got them. My only guess is that she kept getting them from shared aprons in home economics (or whatever they call that class now days).

My only guess is that she kept getting them from shared aprons in home economicsOr shared headphones, or hats, etc.
They seem to be worse at the beginning of the school year and right after winter break, when the kids return from visits south of the border.
