Kudos to TheDC’s Kerry Picket for spotting the significance of this Hillary Clinton quote: “Laws [about reproductive health care and safe childbirth] have to be backed up with resources and political will,” Clinton said. “And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
If one is to assume that “reproductive health care” rights are a euphemism for abortion (a fairly safe assumption), then this is quite telling. Maybe it’s because she was speaking to a friendly audience (at the Women in The World Summit), but this honest appraisal is a reminder that politics are downstream from culture, and that uprooting long-standing religious and cultural beliefs are a prerequisite for utopian progressivism. As President Obama might say, we do tend to “cling to guns or religion.”
Hillary’s comments also remind me of something Frank Bruni wrote in a recent column, “Bigotry, the Bible and the Lessons of Indiana.” In that piece Bruni argues that
our debate about religious freedom should include a conversation about freeing religions and religious people from prejudices that they needn’t cling to and can indeed jettison, much as they’ve jettisoned other aspects of their faith’s history, rightly bowing to the enlightenments of modernity. He goes on to write that prominent gay philanthropist Mitchell Gold told him, “church leaders must be made ‘to take homosexuality off the sin list.'”
Regardless of how one feels about gay rights or the abortion debate, it is interesting that liberals are finally getting around to openly confessing something all of us sort of know — yet few will say out loud: Achieving a liberal social agenda will necessarily require first extirpating many “deep-seated” Christian values and tenets.
Not only are the values of the founding fathers under attack. Demonically inspired Anti-semitism and anti-Christianity will prevade whomever the Democrat nominee is. Remember they openly booed at thier convention at the name of God
How America keeps voting in people who will assure the destruction of our nation by the Holy God.

In every socialist revolutions the religious are prime targets. In Russia, in Spain, in Mexico, in Cambodia, everywhere, every time.
So Christians shouldn’t base their morality on the Bible. (Many nominal Christians already don’t). Then what would it be based on? I know what the left thinks it should be based on. So it wouldn’t really be Christianity anymore, would it? And that’s the end game.
Perhaps that will happen.
God, however, is unlikely to be so accommodating.

I miss the First Amendment. Back when it was an American entity, the federal government never tried to stomp out religion. These days, FedGov is (to put it mildly) not on our side.

Here’s a better idea- “gay people must be made to acknowledge that homosexuality is an abomination in the sight of God, and to apologize to Christians for trying to get them to renounce their faith In the creator and judge of this world”
She wants to drive Christianity underground like they did with the blacks in the south and like medieval times where reading the Bible would get you burned at the stake.
What veil? This is the woman who made her college, Wellesley, remove the year of studying the Bible off the requirements list.

Seems to me that back in the 1950s the communists decided we’d be hard to take down because of our unifying culture, our religion and our upwardly mobile middle class. Now “celebrate diversity”, gay marriage, abortion, and imported welfare recipients have become the communist’s destructive tools.
Americans have been taught to be ashamed - not only of their country but even their skin color - but only if it’s white.

I have known for most of my life that the whole world is going to commit suicide eventually, because the Bible tells us all about it. It’s just that as a complacent American, it was in my DNA to think “Not here, not now”. Well, someone had to live in the generations during which the transition happens, and I think that’s me. It didn’t just start, it’s just more widespread and blatant now, the anti-Christians feel their power. Because of the way things work, I think we’re only going to see it pick up speed, like the way a snowball rolling down a tall steep hill works. The closer it gets to the bottom, the bigger it gets and the more it picks up speed. That’s why the “Blessed Hope” is called the “Blessed Hope”. One way or the other, true Christians will be gone before the very worst happens, but a lot of bad can come before the very worst.
The Bible applies to all of Christian history’s times and I post this just as a reminder. Thank You biblegateway.com

The Sin and Doom of Ungodly People
