Will the Left circle its wagons around the Clintons, or ride off into the sunset without them? The Clinton Foundation announced this week that they would conduct a voluntary internal audit after the exposure of their failure to properly declare millions of dollars from foreign governments to the IRS. A leading progressive group, Common Cause, says that’s not good enough (via Instapundit and the Washington Examiner):
Citing concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the influence of hidden overseas donors, Common Cause called on presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Clinton Foundation today to commission an independent and thorough review of all large donations to the foundation and to release the results.
“As Mrs. Clinton herself observed earlier this week, voluntary disclosure is not enough,” said Common Cause President Miles Rapoport. “A report in Thursday’s New York Times indicates that the Clinton Foundation violated an agreement to identify all of its donors. The foundation’s omissions create significant gaps in the information that voters need to make informed decisions at the polls.”
To ensure that the audit is complete, Rapoport said the foundation should enter into a contractual agreement with auditors to open its books fully and to make public the complete report of their review.
In the meantime, Common Cause wants the Clintons to stop taking cash from foreign governments and corporations, which would mean shutting down entirely:
And to further guard against potential conflicts of interest, the foundation should stop accepting donations from foreign governments and foreign corporations, he said.

More people will come to realize that the Clinton Foundation is a legal workaround to launder money. However, no legal action is ever likely as the Clinton’s know how to buy protection.
How much contact with S0r0$ foundations do the Clintons and thrir foundation have?
Since it took a team of author Schweizer’s investigators a year to piece together the “tangled web” of finances in the Bill, Hillary and Chealsy Clinton Foundation, I’m sure a one-day audit BY THE FOUNDATION will clear up the matter. How stupid does the media think we are? Answer: Very stupid.
One cannot very well audit, outside or otherwise, a foundation that has to refile it’s past 5 years of notifications and tax returns, can it?
Nope, no shenanigans here. Just plain old harmless mistakes made by a near one billion dollar slush....er, uh Charitable Foundation (that’s the ticket!). Don’t look at their 15% (albeit, probably now erroneous given the need to refile) donation to problem rate, or their 60% salary rate, or the other 25% that went for ‘expenses’. Those G5s and G6s are expensive to operate!.... Nope, no worries here. Trust us.
I cannot help but notice that one phrase has yet to be used regarding the Clinton’s acceptance of foreign donations: DARK MONEY.
That phrase was the phrase of choice to taint any R who accepted any donation from a nonapprovd source.
IMO, its purpose is to provide an impenetrable fortress of fiscally rich funding for the Clintons and their heirs. Minimal taxes given the subterfuge of ‘charity’, and a cash cow that pays all their lavish expenses and ‘consulting’ fees for the good of humanity. How self-giving of them.
Seems to me a remember a series of books by a SciFi writer called “Foundation” and variations there of in the sequels (e.g., Foundation and Empire)....seems appropriate here - at least in the titles.
Have any donations to the Clinton foundation come from US citizens? There may be some donations from US Corporations, who were involved in “pay to play” schemes, but it sounds like the vast majority of money came from foreigners seeking to buy influence or favors.

With the Clintons, there can be nothing but corrupt. Not one ounce of good between them.
In the event of a worldwide nuclear war, all that will survive will be cockroaches and the Clintons. Eventually all of the cockroaches will die off.

The Kennedys and just about all of America’s elite have done the same. They won’t be brought to justice as that would shake the entire liberal framework. There are also probably legitimate charities that would also suffer. Although I suspect that all charity corrupts both the giver and the receiver and one should enter carefully into any charity relationship.
Keep in mind everyone, the Clinton’s had access to over 1,000 FBI files.
Of course legitimate charities suffer - greatly, because falsehoods like the Clinton Foundation are allow to prosper and operate without peril. Go ask Haiti how much the Clinton Foundation did for them.
