Iran Flexes Its Power by Transporting Turkey to the Stone Age
Observer ^ | April 22, 2015 | Micah Halpern

Half of Turkey—44 of 81 provinces, 40 million people including those living in Istanbul and Ankara, suffered a massive power outage that lasted a solid twelve hours. It happened on Tuesday, March 31st.

It happened because Iran wanted it to happen. The blackout in Turkey was caused by a cyber hack that originated in Iran.

This cyber attack was payback, a taste of what Iran has to offer. Everything went down. Computers, airports, air traffic, traffic lights, hospitals, lights, elevators, refrigeration, water and sewage, everything simply stopped. In an instant, Turkey was transported back to the stone ages.

A chilling and fascinating story of 21st century cyberwarfare as Iran fights it. Lots of lessons for the west. A good read.

I would agree...very interesting article. The leadership in Turkey has to be asking a lot of questions now, and wondering about what else could happen.

Iran sent Turkey to the Stone Age. Same as the Statists, Leftists, and Greens are doing to us in the States.

>>The leadership in Turkey has to be asking a lot of questions now,<<

I’m thinking, if Turkey’s leadership come upon intelligence definitively linking Iran and determine it was indeed an attack on their power grid, wouldn’t Turkey be looking for a lil payback.

I dunno....just sayin

"...wouldn’t Turkey be looking for a lil payback."

Turkey has a large and well-equipped military - could put a serious hurting on Iran if they wanted to.
Although "technically" a member of NATO, Turkey serves only Turkey (and the will of the moon god "allah")

Ergodan is planning to make Turkey immune to cyber attacks by Islamizing the country. Then they will live in the 7th century. Voila! No problems!

This is a HUGE story. Yes it is an act of war against a NATO nation by a country that the US is negotiating its entry into the nuclear club. What if Turkey invokes the NATO charter? Are all NATO nations instantly at war with Iran?

One of the most interesting parts of this story is, where is the MSM? Is this story being suppressed because it would mean NATO is at war with Iran?

Turkey is about 70% Sunni. Iran is about 90% Shia.

Uh oh!

It is a huge story, and worrisome that they could take down half a country for twelve hours, even Turkey. I would not be surprised if this included some of the same people who have been unsuccessfully attacking Israeli infrastructure for a long time:

It’s not that hard to design a secure system, and Turkey needs to change their philosophy from convenience to security. Modern countries cannot afford the cost of this sort of attack at the wrong time.

I wonder how it is proved to be Iran and not the CIA who want to spank Turkey for straying from the federal reserve reservation and dancing with the BRICSA nations and specifically Russia?

It is rather easy to track these attacks. Accurately identifying the originator can be work, but it's not as hard as it sounds (although I doubt you will find the necessary information in the public domain). Even CIA/NSA would have trouble faking the origin convincingly if Turkey, perhaps with Russian help, understood how to check track the attackers down.
