The presidential contender says "we need to enforce our federal laws" in states with legal pot
-snip-
Hewitt: A lot of people are criticizing the President for not enforcing the immigration laws. He's also not enforcing the drug laws in Colorado and Washington State. If you're the president, will you enforce the federal drug laws and shut down the marijuana trade?
Rubio: Yes. Yes, I think, well, I think we need to enforce our federal laws. Now do states have a right to do what they want? They don't agree with it, but they have their rights. But they don't have a right to write federal policy as well....I don't believe we should be in the business of legalizing additional intoxicants in this country for the primary reason that when you legalize something, what you're sending a message to young people is it can't be that bad, because if it was that bad, it wouldn't be legal.

Bush, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, and Texas Governor Rick Perry have said that states should have the right to determine their own marijuana laws.

Can’t resist using the iron fist of the government, I see. That knocks him off my list of possible candidates.
I just scratched him for good off my list. The right answer is to repeal the federal ban on pot and let the states decide for themselves.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has called legalization of recreational marijuana a "bad idea," but a spokesman said that Rubio believes, "of course," that states can make their own decisions about laws within their borders.

That is the ace in the hole right there. Whoever calls for repealing federal marijuana laws before Hillary Clinton is going to win the election. The millenials will think they are calling for legalizing pot, but it really just the status quo and kicking it to the states where it belongs. I thing Cruz is setting this up if you read his answer. My little brother is a millenial, I know a lot of them, the millenials will throw the gays under the bus in a second for legal pot.
I don’t care about marijuana. It’s so stupid to bring it on the market right now in the middle of the biggest mess the founding fathers could imagine
But I just have to say, duh, Rubio flip flops like a ninth grade boy trying to figure out what to do next to get the girls to like him
How anyone takes him seriously is a complete befuddlement

Though it is technically illegal for individuals to purchase prescription drugs abroad except in certain circumstances, border patrol will generally allow non-narcotic prescriptions that are no larger than a three month supply.

That statement bespeaks extreme confusion about the Constitution and the role of the Fed gov.
Are we sending a bad message to our kids?
Stuck on stupid, terminal case, I fear.
While he’s never been on my list, I agree. I’ve got ZERO patience with these ant-State’s rights GOPers. And we’ve got a LOT of em.
Still not going to support him. He screwed the pooch on Amnesty for illegals.
What a disgusting and hopeless nation we are that lets dope heads select our leader on the basis of supporting dope.
We are crashing, and this is just another symptom of it.
I find it so ironic we move as a society to OKAY marijuana smoking....while for 50 years we have worked to stigmatize tobacco smoking.
Does that strike anyone else as hypocritical? Worse, even, as tobacco use doesn’t get you “high”.
I agree, but it is what it is. Marijuana is the least of my concerns. I’d rather cave on that if it means getting votes than cave on more serious issues like amnesty.
no, but it does get you “cancer”.
