There was good news this month: private-sector job openings rose slightly in February, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Openings rose to 3.8 percent of all private-sector jobs and the job openingsthe highest rate since January 2001. Other data for the month showed the unemployment rate for workers age 25-54 (often called prime age workers) ticked downward to 4.6 percent from 4.8 percent.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Welfare? The black market/underground economy? Hopelessness? We have a ton of jobs here if people are willing to relocate.
That 4.6% rate is a cruel hoax because it does not count any discouraged workers who are not actively looking for jobs.
Two words: Welfare & Disability!
Yet they are all eating, driving, watching TV and using their cell phones aren’t they!
Totally unanticipated.
Contracting is a more successful business model today. A climate of economic fear is to thank for this, with a government that threatens to squeeze the life out of business. Not everybody wants to be on welfare, thank goodness.
“here” is probably Texas as that is the only State that is creating jobs
The Unemployment stats are a charade. The decline in employment is unprecedented despite the idiots’ claims of retiring boomers.
I don’t believe this article. We have 12,000 people living in tents on the streets here. What jobs are they talking about?????
Are you in Kuwait?
I agree on the decline. It’s real.
And it’s probably another excuse to roll in a few million more from the south on the excuse they need more workers/taxpayers.
Who says that they aren’t?
I see all sorts of help wanted ads in the local papers, and those same companies keep listing job openings month after month. Those same companies also have a reputation for having a high employee turnover rate, so most people don’t apply. Once a business gets a bad reputation, they play hell trying to attract any new help.
Most of the young people I know end up working for staffing firms. They know that full time, long term employment for one company is bcoming a thing of the past.
It’s just the nature of the beast that is today’s business climate.
I get calls from business's asking me to contract for them. I simply ask what happened
to all the other companies that contracted for them, and they hang up.
There are some really bad companies out there who use and discard people like trash.
Where the hell is that?
American public schools are churning out brainwashed leftists who lack rudimentary math and language skills yet comport themselves with aires of entitlement.
Because it’s BUSH’S FAULT and you’re a RAAAAACIST!
“Two words: Welfare & Disability!”
BINGO!
Because the online application gauntlet is pure misery?
